I see a lot of former presidents' last names being turned into first names- Carter, Jackson and Harrison come to mind. So, which of these presidential last names would you be willing to give a kid?

(Note: I tried not to repeat names, i.e. Roosevelt only appears once).

I'm guessing Nixon and Reagan aren't wildly popular... It's weird, I just remembered a girl I went to school with called her daugher McKinley, about 14 years ago. We had never heard the like of it before...

I've met several girls named Reagan actually....

and God help the parents who name their kid "Bush" politics aside....

Great poll! I love presidential surnames as first names, regardless of their political track record.

I know he wasn't a president, but I know a little girl named Hamilton. Her brother's name is Harrison.

I wouldn't have a problem with the name Reagan... but I've heard it pronounced Ree-gan, which I'm rather fond of...

Regan (spelled this way) is also a Shakespearian name; she's one of the bad daughters in King Lear. I love the name.

Honestly, none of them. But then I'm hardly attatched to the president connotation, as I'm not American.

I've always liked the name "Regan" - I think it is the name of one of King Lear's daughters in the Shakespeare play? However, I could never name a daughter Regan/Reagan because I would not have her be associated in any way with HIM.

I like the surnames for boys' names thing, so I ticked quite a few, but actually I don't recognise most of them (I'm English), and if I were going to name a kid one of them, I'd google them first.
Also, I guess I probably would only do the surname thing if I had a good friend with a good surname.
