So, curiosity finally hits...
Jul. 14th, 2005 12:39 amFairly new to this community, been frequenting it for some time now...and seeing as how someone else made a post earlier about their unique name, I am overwhelmed by curiosity and must in turn, do the same.
My name is Colure.
Pronounced phonetically, Ko-lure or Ka-lure (with a weak "a" sound)and with strong consonant sounds.
For the longest time, I hated it - all the way up until high school, mostly, because many people made fun of me calling me things like "color" or "kahlua" or "collier", etc...but I finally got over it, for the most part. I just stay as far away from substitute teachers as possible, now ;)
And having had a unique name all my life, I am mostly positive I also want my children (the ones I will some day have but no time soon, mind you) to have unique names as well...
So what does everyone think? Were my parents really that cruel in naming me as such? Or did they unknowingly do me a great favour?
