..Gedde?

I've been thinking about Gedde/Geddy for a boy. The problem is that while researching the name I found it as a nickname for "Gary", that is true for Geddy Lee of Rush, and Gedde Watanabe of Sixteen Candles fame, the only Gedde/ys that I have found. I do not like the name Gary. Has anyone run across a Gedde / Geddy / or even Getty, who was not a Gary?

Gedde makes me automatically think of Anne Geddes, the famous portayer of infants in cute arrangements.
I'd honestly never heard of it as a name, but it sounds a bit weird for Gary, also because I've seen Gary as a nickname for Gerald and Geraldine.

There's a street nearby us that is named Geddes. Other than that I had never heard of the name until today. I don't really care for it.

Just because it's a nickname for Gary doesn't mean YOU have to use it for a nickname for Gary.

The only Geddy/Gedde/Gettys I can think of are Anne Geddes and Estelle Getty (of Golden Girls fame).

I went to school with a Geddy and we only called him Geddy. However, he had a brother named Freddy...cruelty. Of course, his sisters name is Kristin Kandee Karlee...Poor thing lol.
