Ivi isn't Ivy. one is pronounced eye-vee. the other is pronounced eee-vee. I knew a girl named Ivi once. it was short for Ivitisa.

It really depends on what your style is. Do you like popular names, old fashioned names, a certain number of syllables, beginning with a vowel, etc. etc.

My suggestion would be to pick up a baby name book and flip the pages until something jumps out at you. Then say the whole name together and see if you like the way it sounds.

Good luck! :)

I like "Rachael" if you're going for an alternate spelling of Rachel.

I think Courtney is a beautiful name spelled just the way it is =)

I agree with the commenter above on the last name. I love the name Briana or Briona, Brianna, etc. and I think it would fit nicely with the middle/last name.

I guess I'm confused too as to why there are two different last names? I take it you are unsure of if the child will have your last name or the father's?

My name is Courtney. My cousin named her daughter Kourtney. I think Quortney is just too strange. But, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Why would you spell it Quorney? The Qu will indicate a kw sound = Kwortney.

I agree with the person below.. I think Courtney would be better spelled with a K as Kourtney as opposed to a Q/Qu.

I have to disagree with this choice:

Kyrtney Allison (same as Courtney, just spelled differently)

Because that name would to the casual observer, be pronounced Keertney.

So unless you want the girl's name to be mis-said and mmis-spelled all her life, keep it to Courtney

David

I have my list of favorites here if you're just looking for general ideas. http://www.livejournal.com/users/elemmennope/286257.html

I really, really dislike Rachyl. Courtney is ok, but only spelled properly. I just don't understand the need to create difficult spellings. If you are looking for "something different" I'd go with an uncommon name. Not a common name that is spelled wrong.
