What do you think of the name Edge? Yes, it is rather "new and modern" and very odd to name a child that. I've met children named Edge, though, believe it or not? I don't think I'd do it, but what's everyone's opinion of it?

And one name that's odd and I really hope to use someday is Jericho. I adore that name! Never mind the biblical city and it's famous walls, or the TV show, or the vampire hunter in that video game, or that hunky former pro-wrestler turned rock star... I've just always liked the name Jericho. And Jerry would be a likely nickname, which isn't bad at all. What do you all think of Jericho, and what the heck would be a good middle name with it?

Jericho Edge?! LOL!! No no no! Just kidding. ^^; That would be especially awful since our last name is Usher. Jericho Edge Usher. Sounds effin ridiculous. Jericho Usher is cool... but again, middle name?

at first I misread and thought Usher was a middle name you were considering, and I thought it was so cool, 'cause I'd use it on a child :P

Jericho sounds very cute for a boy, and he could go by Jerry but also by Ricky or Jay/Jake.

Jericho Usher already sounds like a music celebrity name, Edge would be adding a bit too much :P
(Usher is an r'n'b performer and Edge is one the guys from U2)

I think you need a middle name there that tones it down, something more classic.

Jericho Martin Usher
Jericho Richard Usher
Jericho Micheal Usher*
Jericho Dorian Usher*
Jericho Dylan Usher
Jericho Loris Usher
Jericho Louis Usher*
Jericho Emerson Usher = initials spell out JEU, which means 'game' in French (just for added flavor)

*my favorites

(The) Edge is the nickname that Bono Vox gave to his guitarist, born Dave Howell Evans, because he said he had a spiky head :P but he's always listed among the band members as Edge.

While Usher was born Usher Raymond IV.

I also thought of suggesting Jericho Matthew, it was one of the first ones that popped in to my mind, but then I guess I skipped it because I'm not a big fan of that name myself.

Loris is more frequently used for girls (at least in the US), but it has the same roots of Laura/Lawrence, which all mean "crowned with laurel", symbolizing knowledge and victory.

Edge is definitely different. That's kinda how I feel about the name "Gage." I don't know. It sounds like a computer thing to me.

Edge is pretty stupid to me. It's an extremely common word, so it doesn't make sense to me as a name. If it actually MEANT something it would be different, but it's basically just the outside limits of a space - what's so good about that?

Jericho does sound a bit like other names, I have heard of a Jeric. Edge Usher sounds like someone who ushers people over the edge of a cliff :P
