So what do you think....
May. 6th, 2007 07:21 amWhat do you think of the name Edge? Yes, it is rather "new and modern" and very odd to name a child that. I've met children named Edge, though, believe it or not? I don't think I'd do it, but what's everyone's opinion of it?
And one name that's odd and I really hope to use someday is Jericho. I adore that name! Never mind the biblical city and it's famous walls, or the TV show, or the vampire hunter in that video game, or that hunky former pro-wrestler turned rock star... I've just always liked the name Jericho. And Jerry would be a likely nickname, which isn't bad at all. What do you all think of Jericho, and what the heck would be a good middle name with it?
Jericho Edge?! LOL!! No no no! Just kidding. ^^; That would be especially awful since our last name is Usher. Jericho Edge Usher. Sounds effin ridiculous. Jericho Usher is cool... but again, middle name?

Date: 2007-05-06 12:55 pm (UTC)Jericho sounds very cute for a boy, and he could go by Jerry but also by Ricky or Jay/Jake.
Jericho Usher already sounds like a music celebrity name, Edge would be adding a bit too much :P
(Usher is an r'n'b performer and Edge is one the guys from U2)
I think you need a middle name there that tones it down, something more classic.
Jericho Martin Usher
Jericho Richard Usher
Jericho Micheal Usher*
Jericho Dorian Usher*
Jericho Dylan Usher
Jericho Loris Usher
Jericho Louis Usher*
Jericho Emerson Usher = initials spell out JEU, which means 'game' in French (just for added flavor)
*my favorites

Date: 2007-05-06 01:02 pm (UTC)The first two names you listed are so coincidental for me! Martin is the name of my hubby's wrestling trainer. That'd be a little awkward to name a boy after him, though I bet he'd appreciate it! LOL!
Richard is my hubby's middle name, and it was his father's first name. I've considered that name many times in order to honor his father. He passed away about 9 years ago from pancreatic cancer. He was such a big influence in their lives. Jericho Richard does sound so nice too.
I don't like Jericho Michael, but that did make me think of Jericho Matthew, which is pretty good. Jericho Louis I like a bit too. And I had never heard of Loris before?! That's such an interesting one! Where is it from?

I also thought of suggesting Jericho Matthew, it was one of the first ones that popped in to my mind, but then I guess I skipped it because I'm not a big fan of that name myself.
Loris is more frequently used for girls (at least in the US), but it has the same roots of Laura/Lawrence, which all mean "crowned with laurel", symbolizing knowledge and victory.
