I met a baby named 'Special Blessing' once. I know each baby is a blessing, but come on.

In that vein, there was a litgant on "Judge Judy" last year whose name was, I kid you not, "Starwishy". As in "star" + "wish" + "y" to make it more name-like I guess. This was a young woman, around 18-20. I like to think the parents "wished upon a star", but also, the name sounds ridiculous. Everyone in the court was snickering at it.

My aunt went to school with a Crystal Shanda Leer, and my mom went to school with a Holly Wood. What were people thinking in the '60s?

Well, I have a couple of examples of this, but in Norwegian.

Well, Kai-Jack was one. Pronounced like 'kayak.'

They wanted to name his brother Teddy-Bjørn. 'Bjørn' does mean 'bear,' so that would be 'teddy-bear.' I think the state said NO. Since then our name laws have changed, though.

Word-names are bad enough, but phrase-names? That's just cruel.

I've known more than one Summer Breeze. So. much. tack.

My sister named my nephew Sirius Lee, as in "Seriously!", and I pretty much think its the dumbest name ever. Granted my name is Paige, which is unique and pretty much an open target for being made fun of (though I loooooove my name), but really "Seriously" like the adverb! And she wonders why I giggle whenever she scolds him to get out of something (he's started walking now :) ), imagine just yelling "SERIOUSLY! (Sirius Lee)", and it really does make her quite mad, though I always say, "Well, you named him that!"

I feel for the kids... makes you wonder what they were thinking.

And congrats on it being a boy! I like the name.
