middle names

am i the only one here who doen't have or doesn't think middle names are important? even if i had a middle name it would have just been my mom's maiden name nothing fancy or matching or anything. my name:emma lang is nice and short and i cant tell you how nice that was when doing all those sat like tests!

I don't get the point of middle names. I think it might be a "tradition" in some countries, to give the godparent's choice as a second/middle name or something like that, but I think it's completely useless, I don't want to give middle names to my children.
