[identity profile] christinedaae87.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm yet another one that saw this community on LJ Spotlight. I just had to join, I love talking about baby names.

I've just got engaged! We have talked about kids, but not until after we're married. We would like a boy & a girl.
Boy to be called: Leland Alexander
Girl to be called: Indya Hannah

What do you think about those names?

I also have a fairly long list of baby names I like, you can find them under the cuts

Faith
Hope
Charity
Joy
Chastity
Serendipity
Harmony
Melody
Patience

Art
Devon
Paris
Sorrow

I don't like Chastity very much, I think the movie Wedding Crasher kinda ruined that name.

But I think Serendipity is very pretty, and I love the name Paris.

I like the two names you've picked out, though personally I'd swap Leland and Alexander and make it Alexander Leland, but that's just me. I do think both sets of names are very nice. :)

As for your other lists, I especially like Melody and Serendipity.

Chastity? Serendipity? Patience?

Oh, I hate these word names. :/

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so rude, I apologize.

I do like Faith, Hope, Melody and Joy. As much as I love the meaning of the word, I worry about a name like Serendipity with that "dip" in the middle.

Also, "Sorrow"? That's a heavy meaning to put on a kid.

I like Leland Alexander, but not Indya. First of all, if you're going to name a child after a country, spell it right. Second... why name your child after a land mass, anyway?

I don't think that I could ever name my child after a trait, like Joy or Hope or something like that. Even naming after months is stretching it for me. And I think that a name like Sorrow for a boy would doom him to a life where he would be associated with sad things.

Devon and Paris are nice though :)

Have you ever read Tess of the d'Urbervilles? She names her baby Sorrow, although it's not a baby that hangs around for very long, I've got to say. Why do you want to associate such an unpleasant emotion with your child?
