and of course, if it's twins, Cain and Abel.
Current RP Characters - Riju/Ridge Waydrifter, Rishi, Shysie-Taima (shay-see), Cain Reaver
If I ever buy any children, they are so screwed when it comes to names.
They are getting medievil/native indian/inuit/elven names, or maybe just a normal word if I feel like it.
Oh, and it's getting Waydrifter as a middlename, girl or boy.
And it's bound to have hundreds of middle names as I don't have one.
And I hope to marry someone with an interesting surname.
As mine means 'Wallet or Bag maker, Celtic origin' or as a modern definition, Ooozing fat.
I shall change my surname to 'Fedaykin'.
So my spawn will more than likely be Tristram Waydrifter Fedaykin. Poor sod.

Date: 2007-05-02 11:10 pm (UTC)please dont do cain and abel as twins. not only would they get ridiculed but you probably would too. and im a HUUUGE fan of biblical names, but thats too trite and its not a positive biblical reference, even if it is in the "holy book" and the "word of God" at least names like matthew, elijah, and nathaniel have positive meanings and connotations.

Date: 2007-05-02 11:41 pm (UTC)1/ I'll call my spawn anything I please and if anyone wants to ridicule me, they can do it to my face and swiftly eat their words.
2/ If I wanted a name with a positive meaning, i'd have picked a name with a positive meaning. I could vouch that they ARE positive. They are two of the strongest characters.
Also, if you're well read you'd also realise that they are the fathers of the age of vampires. Which makes the names doubly cool for twin characters.
And if I wanted a positive biblical name, I'd call a child God.

Date: 2007-05-02 08:43 pm (UTC)maybe you already knew this, but since you paired it with another "R" name I'm figuring maybe not... but Reiko is Japanese (I believe) and is originally meant to be prnounced like "Leiko"

Date: 2007-05-02 08:49 pm (UTC)Bunty is an AWESOME name. It's like calling a lil boy Dandy or Beano.
Oubliette is a fairly unsuitable name for a kid, yes. But great nonetheless. It was a name I used in an Lovecraftian short story.

Date: 2007-05-02 08:55 pm (UTC)Someone mentioned a while back, remember, it's a global society nowadays. Think of your reaction if you met someone named Forget, Open, Telephone, etc.
I've known a Keelin and a Fallon, neutral on both names. Seamus is one of my favorite names.
Cain and Abel? I do joke about naming a boy Abel (for my initials) and I hope you're joking, too.

Date: 2007-05-02 09:12 pm (UTC)And Oubliette is a pretty name for starters, and then there comes all the related ideas and connotations.
I'd LOVE to have that name.
Forget would be a cool name.
Open, Telephone? No. They are boring words. I'm a 'Path' and no-one blinks when I introduce myself thusly.

Date: 2007-05-02 10:16 pm (UTC)That isn't the actual etymology of the name, but it's still a really nice thing to believe.
It's a pretty thing to give to a child, I think.

Date: 2007-05-02 09:02 pm (UTC)Scout just sounds like she'd be such an outgoing little girl. Reminds me of the book How to Kill a Mocking Bird.

Date: 2007-05-02 09:09 pm (UTC)My other fave is Seamus. That's my bro's name. Lol
Fallon is nice as well. I think its the name of a school book publishing company here in old Eireann. It's a surname, tho, in real life. I'll stop rambling now. XD

Date: 2007-05-02 09:14 pm (UTC)Ridge is a GREAT name.
Naming things randomly is fantastic. For example, a cat called Kick. Kick the Cat.

Date: 2007-05-02 09:16 pm (UTC)Not that I'd ever use it on a person, but an animal it would be cute. Oh, and I have a Sim called Jump. That's almost a person, isn't it? Hehe.
And Kick the Cat is great. I had a kitten called Derek once. I had to give it away tho, me sister is allergic. :/
