I 'met' a girl baby yesterday named Leighton Auvaline. I had never heard either of those names.......what do you guys think of it?

Leighton is a last name. I don't like last names as first names, esp. on girls.

I think Auvaline is beautiful as a frist name, however I am strongly reminded of Ovaltine. In which case it puts me off the name a bit, Leighton I also feel is not very feminine...how about reversing the two?

She can't reverse it- it's not her kid.

I knew a little boy named Leighton once. I don't hate it, but I'd probably never use it myself. It's not the worst I've ever heard.

Makes me think of Leyton Hewitt, the (male) tennis player. NMS.

Leighton is my brother's last night, and therefore, I like it. I never thought about using it as a first name, though. ^_^

Annoyingly pretentious.

I used to look after a boy called Leighton (yes, spelled the same way) a few years back but Auvaline? That's a new one. Can't say either name appeals to me, but hey.. at least it's not too common. We've got five Alfies in the nursery where I work at the moment! *sigh*

i like leighton too. i like last names for women\girls. i also like when the mother's maiden name (if it's a good one) is the child's middle name. my maiden name sadly is "gross" so that is not something i can do :(
