May. 2nd, 2007 12:59 pmHello,
I'm new to this community but have had an obsession with names since I was little, so I guess this really is the right place for me ;)
Perhaps my obsession with names is a result of my own rather unique name, but who knows... ^.^
I tend to like unique and uncommon names, and although I don't have any children and don't plan on having any in the near future I still think a lot about them, but unfortunately, I'm also awfully picky.
Besides, I'm German but I think German names are pretty boring (I hope I'm not offending anybody by saying this, it's just my opinion and other people might very well like German names, which is also fine with me).
Despite all that, here are my personal favourites:
Girls:
- Kela (pronounced Kay-La)
- Illeana
- Isis
- Leia
Boys:
- Luke
- Josiah
- Keziah
- Nathan
- Rei
What do you think of them, any other suggestion that involve unique and unusual names?
I'd be very thankful (:

Date: 2007-05-02 12:17 pm (UTC)Kela spelled Kayla qualifies as a common name where I live. I can think of three off the top of my head, and I know there are more.

Date: 2007-05-02 12:39 pm (UTC)No, I'd always leave the spelling as it is, I don't think you need an uncommon spelling for an already uncommon name ;)

Date: 2007-05-02 02:56 pm (UTC)I guess it's just weird seeing it spelled Kela. But I understand the language difference.
I have a friend whose named Kyna (Kee-nah). Its prety different, as I've never heard it used by anyone else, but I find it pretty.
