I'm eight months pregnant, and I absolutely love the name Amandine [a - man - deen]. It's French and has two meanings : "Who needs to be loved" and "Soul of the Andes".

What do y'all think?

I love French names. I don't particularly like the way that one is pronounced, I like [ah-mahn-DEEN] not A man dean. Sounds like you're talking bout a man named Dean.

I agree with your comment about pronunciation (sp). LOL.

It's not even really 'mahn' in the middle, it's more like am-o(n)-deen, but with the middle syllable 'swallowed' a little, that (n) is nasal and not an English sound.

I do like French names but I detest when they're pronounced badly. As both of my names are French names that English speakers mangle frequently I think I'm entitled to feel this hostility. ;-)
