May. 1st, 2007 08:42 pmMy husband's first and middle initials are JM, and mine are KM. So we decided years ago that when we have children, they'll progress through the alphabet in the same manner. LM, MM, NM, and so on (if I have more than three, of course.) .
Agreeing on names is kind of difficult for us, but we've managed to think of a name for our firstborn, depending on gender. (Note: I'm not even pregnant yet, but we both like to plan ahead.)
Lenore Megan for a girl
Liam Maddox for a boy
The real challenge will be thinking of names when we have a second child.

Date: 2007-05-02 03:30 am (UTC)My father decided that he would carry on with my great-grandmother's tradition (my grandmother and her siblings all were named with D's...Donna, Douglas, Diane, and five more) and named me and my siblings with all E's. Fortunately, I got Elyse. My brother and sister are named Eric and Erin. But this tradition is ridiculous. Now my children are supposed to name their kids with all F's. Yeah right. Felicia, Felicity, Fernando...WTF?
Sorry, you probably don't care. I should have just said "kudos."

Date: 2007-05-02 04:34 am (UTC)I adore both Liam and Maddox (they're on my short-list, though I want Liam Seamus and Maddox Joaquin).
If I were to follow your trend I'd go:
Maddox Mikhail
Moira Madeline
Noam Miqueas
Norah Mae

There aren't any "N" names - boy or girl - that I like very well.

Date: 2007-05-02 05:08 am (UTC)For N, I like Noelle, but that's better if the baby would be born on or around Christmas. (And was also female. I don't like Noel, for some reason.)

Date: 2007-05-02 05:16 am (UTC)Noelle is a lovely name. I work with a little girl named Noelle and a little boy named Noah. They're toddlers, so we're often saying "No Noelle!" or "No Noah!" when they're getting into something. Now, even if you're just saying their names, for a second they think they're in trouble, because "no" is the first thing they hear. So..."No" names are off my list : )
