I'm just curious about everyone's opinion on this.

I absolutely adore my last name, but I don't want to keep it when I get married since I'm rather old-fashioned I guess. I still want to pass it down, though. It actually could be used as a first name, but it's not exactly my style for a first name. I'm just wondering, what do you think of passing the maiden name down as a middle name to a child? I don't mean hyphenating the two last names. It would just be the middle name. What's your opinion?

I love it, especially if its not like "Butts" or something. My friend's middle name is his mother's maiden. Martel.

I have two middle names. One is a "real" name (for lack of a better description) and one is my mom's maiden name. I don't really use the latter much (on forms and stuff i just put my first middle name) but i definitely like having it, especially since i'm much closer to my mom and to her side of the family.

LOVE the idea. In fact, I plan on using my maiden name for a boys middle name (it is more masculine sounding). My sister's middle name is my mother's maiden name, which is Bliss. Her name is so pretty I'm jealous! ha ha. I would definitey recommend passing it down!

I think it's a very nice idea. I wish my maiden name sounded remotely close to a first/middle name, but alas, it does not.

My best friend when I was a kid had her Mom's maiden name as her middle name... and my husband's Dad's middle name is also his Mom's maiden name. I think it's an awesome idea!

I've contemplated using Delaney as a middle since it was my great-grandmother's maiden name. And I just like to show off my Irish-ness. :)

i think it's a good idea. my grandma's maiden name is laurie, and they gave that to my mom as her first name. i think it's a neat idea to use last names as first/middle names.

I think it's great =) My cousin has his mother's maiden name as his middle name [Bryan Perry McCracken] and I think his sounds really nice. I think it's a wonderful idea especially if you have a name that you think fits!
