I want such a beautiful and unique name for my daughter... Does anyone like the name McKenna Lorainne? I can't think of a middle name for McKenna. It's driving me nuts!! I also love the name Peyton Claire. (Can't think of a middle name for Peyton either!) I don't know if I'm gonna use Peyton because a girl on my street just had a daughter and named her that, but I love that name so much!

Every Peyton I know is a male. Never thought of it as a girl name. But I adore McKenna. That's cute. Not sure if I'm fond of Lorraine with it though-- but, I have no suggestions to pair it with.

I actually like both names. I'm not a fan of "Mc" names, but it does go.

McKenna isn't really unique. Nor is Peyton. :/

I'm sorry I keep shooting you down. Ergh

I love Peyton, and it is a unisex name. I know all female Peytons around here, not male ones.

Ditto Mamasaidriot

They're both nice enough name, though nms.
Perhaps you could use Peyton as a mn.

Peyton Claire is super cute. I have known a girl Peyton and think it's great!

I think you're on the right track with your middle name for McKenna, although IMO Peyton is a much more unique and cool name than McKenna. (What about Peyton McKenna??)

I have a neice named McKenna and the main thing I don't like about her name is that it can not be shortened into anything that sounds cute. Plus, it's popular. Peyton sounds like a boys name.

Peyton isn't actually *popular*, it's more trendy than anything else. The boy's-name-on-a-girl thing was REALLY big in 2000-20001.

McKenna isn't REALLY popular either, but again, the Mc- names thing was trendy in the same time period as Peyton. Also, the Mc- suffix means "son of." Not really feminine in my eyes :/

Sorry if I sound like a know-it-all, but I do a lot of research on names and have been for a while. I'm a nerd.

I'd like to offer up that I think Kenna is a cool name on its own, though :)

I know, literally, 12+ McKenna's or MaKenna's (if you MUST love that name, I prefer the one that looks less like McDonald's)

and my baby cousin MaKenna is MaKenna Rae.

and I have to say that I like Peyton Clair (i like Clair minus the e, I don't know why) 10000000000000 times better than McKenna. <33

Exactly. Trendy names are exactly what they're called, a trend. And when the trend is over you're going to have a child who can't spell his/her own name and thinks that everyone should have 4 or more "y" and "ae" combinations in their name.

That's why I like MaKenna a little, because everyone I know calls her Kenna.

peyton claire is a little too androgynous for me. both names could go either way. claire is definitely associated with females now, but paired with peyton, it's too... is that a boy, or is that a girl... kind of name. if you like peyton for a first name, maybe find a middle that is obviously feminine?

i, too, associate mc- names as son of... and you're little girl would not be a son of anything. :) kenna is cute.

I knew a seven year old Payton at the camp I went to last summer- her middle name was Summer because her birthday was in July. I thought it was a really cute name- Payton Summer

But, of course, I have no clue when you are due so if that would apply I'm not sure.

I've never been partial to the name Lorainne, but I think McKenna Elaine would be very beautiful. Its a name a girl can grow into.

I actually like McKenna Claire and Peyton Lorraine better than McKenna Lorraine and Peyton Claire. But they are beautiful either way. I also like Mackenlee for a girl. Just a few suggestions.
