Lol, I know. Which is why I wanted to see how others react to it. I tend to always like names of characters that aren't always great. Like Regan from Shakespeare. I love the name but.. Regan was a psycho. And then there's Damien. Love the name, but I don't want my kid to be associated with a devil child.
I love Griffin too. Perhaps you can coax your husband into liking it? Drilling it into his head? I know that's worked for some people I know. ;)
Edward - average or slightly below. It's inoffensive but I'm not a huge fan Griffin - I kind of really like it but it's a bit too...unusual maybe. Alexander - nice if a bit dull. Julian - I hate this name. Leo - love Dorian - I love Wilde but I cannot stand this name. There was a sitcom in the UK called "Birds Of A Feather" and the slutty interfering neighbour (female) was called Dorian (spelled differently perhaps?) - I can't get past it! Idony - hmm. Lucia - like a lot.
Totally agree with you on both Damien and Regan for exactly the same reasons by the way!
Edward - It's a classic, a solid name that fits all types of boys. I prefer Edmund and Edwin though. 8 Griffin - I'm so sick of surnames as first names, the only time it is acceptable is when it is a family name. This is the worst name on the list, if you ask me. 3 Alexander - It's a fine name, very dignified. 9 Julian - It's one of my favorites, though quite trendy at the moment. 10 Leo - It's nice, not a favorite but nice. 7 Dorian - TPoDG is one of my favorite books, so I like this. Yeah, the character is less than admirable but somehow the book only enhances the name for me. Nice sound, though I do think of the Greek tribe too. 8 Idony - Very pretty, nice history and sound. 8 Lucia - Lovely, you can't really go wrong with Lucia. Which pronunciation are you using, I like loo-see-a best, myself. 10
