Hello, my name is Karla and I just became a member.

My husband and I are expecting in September.

As of now we do not know the sex of the baby.

However, we have discussed names and we both strongly agree that we are not naming the child directly after a family member's first name.

I used to like the name Amber but have used it on the internet so it no longer was a name I considered for a baby.

My mother's middle name I always liked and her middle name is Elena.
The other female names are Emily & Hannah which I have always liked since I was a young girl.

As far as boys names go my husband suggested some outlandish names (such as comic book heroes), the one I liked was Logan which he said was the real name of the Wolverine character.

I knew this lady years ago who was trying to adopt for years and when she finally was granted the adoption she named her daughter Myla, my little angel and sadly the little girl passed away at age three.

I have to say there have been some unique names here.

I personally know a family where all the boys have names starting with Z.

My husband's grandparents were Nadine and Zeke.
Not real common names but I like some names no matter how common or uncommon they are.

I really like Elena, and Emily.. And Hannah as well!.

My first suggestion is that you visit this site (http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/). It gives you the official popularity of baby names. You've got some REALLY common ones there, Hannah and Emily are both top 5. And Logan, which you describe as outlandish is ranked 26.

Logan was the most decent name he came up with.
The ooutlandish ones all had to deal with comic book superheroes or their so called real name and Moses. I vetoed most of them. Logan was a nice name but also the character Wolverine's name from what he said.

Most of his had to do with comic book heroes (just about all of them) and Moses since he couldn't think of any names.

He always loved comic books and he is 40 so I vetoed most of the names.

I know people name material things. I never was into that. I named my computer a few choice names that are unmentionable though. :-)

No the name was just what I used on the internet since I liked it so much and after using it for about 10 years.

I know a lot of guys name their cars.

I don't know the woman said that was what it meant, I don't know if she came up with it herself or not.

I did not know her well and one day I was reading the paper and I saw the name and that the little girl had passed away and it was just a shock.

Hahah yeah, i have a friend who got a car (a cavalier) and i told her to name it "the cavalier of fear!"
I think she decided on Rex.

I think the only materialistic things i've named are my two stuffy cows. (Frank, and francesco)

That is the one we have picked for a first name.

My grandma used it for my mom's middle name.
My grandmother is Filipino but her family's heritage is Spanish. My grandmother's sister was killed by the enemy Army during the invasion there.

I had no idea but found out when I mentioned the name and I always loved that name.
I have always liked Emily and Hannah for years as well. So I may use one of them for a middle name.

I thought Myla was a sweet name (not one I was considering) but I know that the woman had been trying to adopt for years and years so when she was finally was approved I thought that was a nice name.

Yeah Zeke (and I do like it) is different but I have heard it before and that was my husband's grandfather but from what I gather he wasn't a nice person so the name wasn't considered.

I swear men must think alike.

It was funny though, we were in a restaurant with his mom and he was coming up with all sorts of names and some of the other people in the restaurant were laughing (in a good way).

I was like NO WAY to some of the names (I am hoping they were not serious) and Logan was a nime I have always liked.

So, for now that is the number #1 for a boys name.

Hopefully, we will find out of we are having a girl or boy or both as twins run on both sides.

If it's any consolation, my boyfriends last name starts with an F, and his middle name, a family name that's passed down is Wayne. So he loves the name William because then his sons initials would be WWF, aka: World Wrestling Federation.

My initials went from KAR to KAB and my husband's is TAB (his mom loved that drink Tab).

My best friend's son went to school and kept saying his auntie's name was CAR though.

So, we were thinking for a boy a L & A name for the first and middle but that would be LAB.

My brother's name is Warren and his initials were WAR and it matched his personality.
