Jan. 22nd, 2007 03:27 pmMy Math teacher came in today with her new baby son. (All my teachers seem to be pregnant!) I didn't get to see the little guy, but I hear he's very cute.
His name is Kaiden. She spelled it out for us.
Personally, uck. You guys?
I think it sounds too much like 'Kaitlin'.

Date: 2007-01-22 08:29 pm (UTC)That spelling does look a lot like Kaitlin and I think it looks rather feminine spelled that way.

Date: 2007-01-22 11:56 pm (UTC)I think maybe it's the spelling that tipped me off.

Date: 2007-01-22 11:57 pm (UTC)The spelling is the main reason why I don't like it. :P

Date: 2007-01-23 03:38 am (UTC)Either way, I don't know what to think about the name at the moment.
I did read online, I think it was BabyCenter, that the name Kaiden had the one of the most different spellings of all the popular boy's names.

Date: 2007-01-23 08:18 pm (UTC)Of course, an awful name doesn't mean you're awful yourself. But still! Poor adults of tomorrow.

Date: 2007-01-23 10:18 pm (UTC)It used to be if someone posted (for example): "What do you think of the name Ryan for a girl?!?! I know it's usually a name for boys, but I really love boys names on girls for some reason! lol! At least she won't have 4738901 other kids in her class with the same name! WDYT?"
Then MOST of the replies would read something like: "Awful *insert pretty thought-out reason here*"
And now it's like: "haha I kinda like it for a girl too! But I would spell it Ryann or Rian to make it more feminine!"
Argh. I always expect to read comments agreeing with me, but unfortunately that isn't the case anymore. Boo.
