My husband and I really like the nickname Callie but don't like the name Calista. What other names are there that you can use the nickname Callie with??
I know a lot of those are odd, but I thought I'd through them out there. There is also the spelling Caleigh which looks less like a NN to me.
I suppose any names like Jacalyn (not my favorite spelling but it fits the best I guess) could have Callie as a nickname. Anything with the "cal" sound in there somewhere even if it's not spelled exactly the same.
I don't know how much help that was, but I tried my best :)
I also know a girl name Kalli and thats her full name :) you don't have to make it a nickname :) You could do something like Callie Mae or Callie Jo :)
I have a good friend named Callie Jo! It's not a double first name though, Jo is her middle name. I think Callie works fine as a first name on its own.
I agree with what most other people have said, that Callie is great as a stand-alone name. It's also my kitty's name and she's basically my child. LoL So of course, I absolutely love it.

Calliope is one of my favorites, she was one of the muses (poetry I think?). But to echo some other opinions - it doesn't have to be a nickname. If you want to call her Callie, why name her something else?
We wanted some suggestions because we I guess want a longer name. But who knows maybe we will change our mind. :) We do have 6 more months to figure it out. Thanks for all the suggestions!
I really disagree with everyone who thinks Callie is fine on its own. If my name was Callie I would be annoyed at not having a full name to fall back on when having an informal name could be a liability.
My favorites are Calla and Carolina (or Caroline). I also agree it could work for Catherine, especially with an L middle name (i.e. Catherine Lynn, or Catherine Lenore, or Catherine Linnea).

Also, Callie is a Greek name - not necessarily just a nickname. :]
