Ever since I watched Walk the Line - the new movie about Johnny Cash... Ive loved the name Carlene. I think its a really pretty and semi unique name (unique as in not common right now not as in weird). I think you could use the nickname Carly as well.

What do you think?

Also which way do you prefer it spelled
Carleen?
Karleen?
Carlene?
or
Karlene?

Ive always loved the name Colleen and this name sorta reminds me of that with a twist :)

I had a suitemate in college who was Carlene, and my roommate was Colleen. And Carlene's roommate was Christine. And there was me, Amy...at least when people called for me we knew who it was for. ;)

I prefer Colleen but if I was going to use Carlene, I would use the Carlene spelling.

I would choose Carleen, but I think it's a little white-trashy. :-\

I do like the Phil Vassar song by that name, though.

My cousin's little girl is named Carlene (Carly), which they picked because they thought it was unique. Turned out there were 3 other girls born that day in the hospital named various forms of (K)Carly.
