“Jen’s grandmother, who passed away recently, would always call her ‘Sweetheart,’” Maguire explained to Jay Leno. “We named her that to honor her grandmother.” As for Ruby? "We just like the name.”
i LOVE Ruby. it is actually on my list for a girl.
i say who cares about Sweetheart. if it means alot to the parents and there really is a meaning behind it, then there you go. Just be happy it's the MIDDLE name and not the first...
Weird southern people do. The only time Jack is called Jack by his family is when I type about him online. Otherwise he's Jack Edward...unless you're Evie, then he's Jackie Edward.
I think it is cute and it has meaning...there are far worse names out there. Its not something i would choose but it isnt that bad and most people dont go by their middle name
I like the name Ruby but... Sweetheart? I am sorry but that is a bad idea in my eyes, like the people who name their kid Lucy Diamond (yes I've seen it done). There are just certain things that don't go as a name.
Sweetheart is not a given name. I think that part is completely stupid. They could've named her anything and still called her sweetheart affectionately.
I agree it's not so bad as far as celebrity kids' names go, but I really dislike it when people use cutesy adjectives like Sweetheart in naming their children. Or Precious. A lot of Filipinos seem to enjoy calling their daughters that. I just think it sounds like you're naming a yappy little lapdog instead of a child.
what in the... god imagine being like sixteen years old and telling someone "yeah my middle name is sweetheart!" or even worse, being forty years old and having to say that. uggh! ruby is nice, though.
