Dec. 18th, 2006 03:23 pmI know there were a couple people who were looking for "Christmas-y" names for babies that are due within the next week or two, and while I'm sure all of you have got your names picked out (or are well on your way), I couldn't help but share this one.
I was just addressing a card to my cousin, whose birthday is coming up, and while I've been completely aware of both her name and her birthday for all nineteen years I've been alive, I never realized the Christmas connection. Her name is Holly.
I didn't even realize until just now that my aunt and uncle probably picked it because she was a Christmas baby, but who knows, maybe it was a coincidence. I just thought it was kind of a neat way to have a Christmas-y name without going overboard because when you see it, it doesn't automatically scream Christmas! the way some would (ex: Noel, etc.).
