Tanner for a boy.
Thoughts?

It reminds me, simultaneously, of Full House and of the occupation of Tanner (someone who cures hides to make leather).
I don't care for either association.

Adorable little boy I used to babysit when I was a teenager (he was the middle child of 3 boys - Dustin, Tanner & Carter). I like it.

I've never cared for Tanner because I just think of dead animal skins and the act of scraping and curing them. It's just kind of a gross association for a name.

I'm not big on occupation names in general, but I find Mason for example, more appealing than Tanner. Bricks vs bloody fur. Yeah.

Haha, I have those same associations.

What a dumb meaning for a name :/
I don't really get the trend of -er names anyway.

My daughter goes to school with a Tanner, I kinda like it.

A boy I had a crush on in middle school was named Tanner, so I like it.

I don't mind it. I've known some nice ones.

My first association was also Full House...which isn't what I would want with a name.

In a recent post where somebody asked our least favourite name trends, mine was by far "occupation surnames"... I just don't see the point in naming someone after a job they'll probably never even have.

I don't like it. It's the leather thing. It's just like calling your kids Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker to me...

Not totally awful, but just kinda dull and overused. I lump it in with names like Hunter and Gunnar and I'm just not a fan of those types of names.

oh and this name TOTALLY seems like one that could very quickly become popular with girls. I'd be a bit concerned about that.

That's exactly what I was going to say, and I was hoping other people had the same associations. ;)
