Yesterday while out getting Halloween Costume supplies we ran into a family and their 2 children. There daughters name was Carrigan. I had never really heard this name before except as a last name for ice skater Nancy Kerrigan. What are you thoughts on this name. Does anyone know its orgin or what it means? I sort of like it, the way you like unique names but are not sure if you'd ever use them for your child.

AFAIK it has Gaelic origins and means "little rock" from an Irish place name.

I think it might have been the name of Cathy Moriarty's evil, evil character in the Casper film.

I kinda like it. I have a feeling it will grow on me the more I think about it.

Well i hate Carrie, i hate last names as first names, I hate unisex names, and I hate it if on paper you can't tell if the kid is male or female. Safe to say i'm not a fan of Carrigan!
I could be wrong but im sure there's an baddy in a story/film called Mrs Carrigan. Maybe The Secret Garden?

1. Surname

2. Bashed knees

3. Cardigan

I can't even see a nickname of "Carrie" or something redeeming this one.

I think it was Hannigan or something like that, wasn't it? It was close to Carrigan, anyway.

There's a girl at the school I work at named Corrigan. I like that better, because I think of Nancy Kerrigan when I say "Carrigan" out loud.
