What do you think of Dylan for a girl?

ETA: Just so you know I'm not planning to use it so don't panic.
I just heard it in a film and was intrigued.
Some people do use it for girls.

No...

...but it could be worse. I mean you could be saying "What about Richard for a girl?"

Eh, nah. I like it for a boy, though.

Not the worst, however.

I know a girl named Dylan. She was the first Dylan I ever knew, so the name Dylan spelled as such seems very feminine to me. The name itself, when spoken, does not, nor does the spelling Dillon, but, in print, I equate Dylan with a girl. However, I don't like it on a girl. I think of the spelling Dylan as being more feminine, but I don't think of the spoken name as being female, and I'd prefer that it stay male.

Eh, it's very "Charlie's Angels" - not particularly the sort of image I'd want to have associated with my child.

Funny - I think of Bob Dylan too and then I can't possibly think of the name for a girl. Can't wrap my around its being a girls' name when I think about Bob! (But yes, he is a god.)

Same thing I think of 99% of other boys names on girls. Tacky, trashy, childish.

whats the difference between Dylan and Richard? They're both MALE names and totally annoying on a girl.

I don't like it as a boy's name, but for a girl's name is kind of cute. I just hate the sound of that name.

How about Dilana or Dylana? I think that's a cute way to use it.. And there was a great woman on the show "Rock Star- Supernova" named Dilana. She's going to become pretty famous I think. Anyhow, I thought that was a cute femme version of Dylan.

I can't believe yours is the only comment about Charlie's Angels. I guess that movie didn't have nearly the effect it could have.

I actually think I'd like it better on a girl.

I don't like it for boys because I think it's too "weak."
