Any takers on the name Adelle [uh-DELL]?
It's supposedly German in origin, and means noble & kind.

I like it but I don't know if it'd suit a grown woman.

I think it would definitely suit a grown woman.

but I think it's pronounced ah-DELL. (emphasis on the second syllable rather than the first)

i love the nickname Addy but dont think it works as a full first name and have considered using Adele with just one L as the first name. I think its pretty and has a great meaning :)

I like it lots, but just Adele. I would use the nn Addy. I think Adele is a very grown-up sounding name.
poo on the hubby for not liking it.

I like it, think it would suit a grown woman just fine, and prefer it with 2 Ls.

I actually really like it even though it's different from some of my other names. And I think it would suit a grown woman better than a child (not that it's bad for a child)

I know a woman named Adelle, and it always seemed to fit her. It might be more fit for a child if it was shortened to Addie, or something of that nature.

Adele/Adela/Adelle would work just fine on any age, I think. It's quite elegant.

It makes me think of the movie The Majestic. I like it, but I would never use it.

It's my great-aunt's name and she's the only one I've ever met. And she's been an adult since the day I was born, so I've only ever known the name on an adult. I honestly don't understand the issue with that at all - it doesn't sound remotely childish to me. It's a nice name, a really nice one. I love it.

I like it a lot. I almost think it's better on a grown woman than a child. (although it suits both, I might give the child a nn like Addy when they were little).
