Date: 2005-03-13 12:19 am (UTC)And you forgot that Elliot is also the lead character in ET. :) Or perhaps the last name is just the reason it has meaning for you.
And I like the name Pistol.
I wanna start making a list like you. I think I will. In just a moment I'll go grab a notebook or two and start keeping a list.
You like Spanish alot, don't you?
My only thing with Mael is that not the spelling, but the pronunciation of the word means bad. But you probably new that. Or maybe I'm just not pronouncing it correctly.
Ummm...so yeah. I may have got a little enthusiastic and rambly just now. Sorry.

Date: 2005-03-13 05:07 am (UTC)Rosalie, Sofia, Bella, Devi, Finley (for a boy), Esme, Paisley
Leo, Quinn, Lennon, James, Elvis (I know a boy named this), Len
Lennon (nickname Leo or Len) is one of my fave boys names :)
Exene is a 'creative spelling' of Xenia. Which yes is a Russian name.
Totally agree that a name should have personal connections, I always try to find names that do in some way. 'Just because it sounds good' seems a lame reason.

yes, it's okay, but you are saying mael wrong you're saying in 'mal' like bad in spanish, it's actually said "mah (as in what you'd call your mom if you lived in the south - and then "el" like 'the' in spanish so Mah-El'
thanks for the enthusiasm, though.

Date: 2005-03-14 02:08 pm (UTC)I like the names Rosalie, Bella and Norma-Jean (almost any name w/ jean) and Seven (my favorite number)
I also interested in meanings of names, i actually have a notebook filled of names, meanigs and sometimes their orgins. It's important for me that my future children have names that have a good meaning like "noble" or "Defender and Helper of mankind" and the uniqueness and commonliness. I'm actually quite picky about names actually. If it's too common or if I don't like the meaning, I don't write down on my notebook.
You seem to like Spanish names don't you? I do too but I don't really like those ones that are too common like Maria, Jose, Manuel, Ana or Juan.
