My friend just had a baby boy, River Jude. Not a huge fan of Jude (maybe because I grew up believing it was my second middle name when in fact it was never put on my birth certificate and my grandmother just made me believe it was, as a way to stick it to my mom, ugh). But I think River is great!

Also, a couple on Facebook who have always gotten under my skin with their "bleh" white-bread taste in EVERYTHING is expecting a baby girl, Kelsey Marie. Completely not surprised with how underwhelmingly average their choice was. Not a bad name, but I think I dislike it because the parents get on my nerves, haha. I like their dog's name better than their soon-to-be daughter :-/

Nature names for boys aren't really my style but River would be my pick, I like it. Jude's a perfectly fine name but I'm put off by the fact it rhymes with dude.


I know a Kelsey Marie, bit underwhelming and kind of late 1980's, but I like it more than most other K names that seem rather popular (Kayla, Kaylee etc)

I don't care for River for a kid. And I like Jude in certain circumstances, but it just doesn't work with River for me.

Kelsey Marie is like bread and butter: normal, safe, sometimes hits the spot, but nothing special.
