I kno a 5yr old girl named Betty. They call her Baby Betty bc she was named after her grandmother who also lives in the home with them. My hubby's grandmother was named Betty and we've talked about using Elisabeth as a name to honor her since Betty can be a nn from Elisabeth and I just find the latter to be nicer sounding.

My ex girlfriend's sister is named Tammy..I thinks she's around 30yrs old.

3 of my great aunts were Ida, Bertha, and Edna..and my 3 oldest half-brothers' mom was named Dorothy..that's really the only reason I dont care for the name, otherwise, I'd say it was one I'd consider esp since I love the Wizard of Oz.

WDYT??

I like Dorothy and Florence. The rest just sound outdated.

I know so many Tammys in their 40s and 50s! It's like the "Ashley" of my parents' generation.

My grandma was Dorothea Beatrice, and went by "Betty".

I like Betty and Tammy. I don't like them enough to use them, but I don't hate them either. The rest rest are pretty ugly to me.

Ethel is a family name. It was my Great Grandmother's middle name, my Grandmother's first name, my mother's middle name and my oldest sister's middle name. It died out there, thank goodness.

My Grandma was Betty I know a toddler Betsy, which seems equally unused.

I like Ida but I think I prefer something longer.

Florence has grown on me (since Florence +the Machine) but not something I'd use for first name.

I know a 12yo BJ Barbara Jane after her grandmother who passed many years before she was born.

I just met a 1 year old Betty! it's such an old lady name but on a kid THAT young it seems normal, lol. if she were an older kid I would probably think it was weird.

Arthur is becoming super popular now, and I bet after Tangled there's gonna be an uptick in Eugenes.

Florence is huge in the UK atm. I've always liked it, but it's too popular now.

I'm 44 and it was a popular name in age group. Didn't come close to Jennifer but there were at least three Tammy(Tami) in my High School Graduation class of 100.

I have a neighbor in her 70s named Gladys. She is the sweetest lady would ever want to meet. She and her husband don't have grandchild near by so they have adopted my daughter. Every holiday they remember her and if they see he outside they load her down with homemade cookies and chocolate. My parents are gone so it helps make me feel better.
