Why would you spell your child's name wrong to be 'unique' and then complain that you can't find generic personalised gifts for them? Either spell their name right or accept that they will never find their name on a mug or necklace.

I agree!!! Or be upset that you always have to correct the spelling. My granddaughter is McKayla. as I told my kid, don't be all SURPRISED when you have to spell her name each and every time.

There is a child in my program called Ozzlynn. Mom gets upset if it's spelled with one n. Like really? That's your concern, that he name is spelled wrong? YOU NAMED HER OZZLYNN!

While I agree that it's stupid to spell your child's name wrong, for the sake of being "unique", the great thing now days is that you can now find places and online shops that wll customize anything to get the right spelling....

I do not understand spelling a name "uniquely." Names are said aloud way more than they are written/spelled. Mykynzy / Mackynzie / McKenzy / Muhkehnzhie are all going to be said the same way as Mackenzie.

We named my daughter Lia (instead of Leah) to honor my MIL Lisa and sometimes I regret it a little because people have a hard time pronouncing it. And Lia isn't even that out there, it's a legitimate alternate spelling!

But being Lorien myself I have made peace with the idea that I will never EVER find anything with my name on it haha.
