Italian tradition and our small Angel.

Even before i get pregnant question about the name for our daughter was already decided. That is funny but I was not deny that this important decision was made without me.

A little story. I am a Russian woman married to Italian man from the south of the country (Napoli). This region is still famous for their traditions. One of them is to give names of grandmother and grandfathers to the grandchildren. So it works this way - First grandchild names by mom and dad from the husband side . Then, if the child is greater than two , comes the turn of the mom's parents. Му husband Nicola is the youngest son in the family. So the name of his father was already stoled for the son of his brother. The girl name was still available.

So as you understood in case of a boy - we could choose. But I gave a birth to a beautifull girl who received name of her wonderfull granny - Angela.

Many times I was asked (even by a granny) If it was ok for me?

What I could say? Maybe if we were choosing name with my husband by ourself our baby could receive name Vera or Ninaas i planed. But traditions are really important for me. After all with all my heart I love my mother in law. She is a relly nice person who helped me a lot. I wanted to make her name leave in a future generation.
And to be honest, I love the name Angela.

Now I have my own, small Angel.
