What are everyone's top 5 favorite boy names? My list of favorite girl names is 3 times longer than my list of boy names, so I'm trying to get some inspiration. :)

Also, what do you all think of Melaina Rose and Olivia Diane?

TIA :)

I have a ton of girls names that I love, but boys names just don't do anything for me.

Top 5:
Theodore
Benjamin
Henry
Sebastian
Josiah

Pretty! Kind of unusual (as a sibset? although Olivia is pretty popular), but not in a weird way at all.

Boys names are hard
Theodore 'Theo'
Evander
Flynn
Henry
Rowan

Out of the top 10 names Olivia would be my first pick, Diane flows nicely with it. My fav O names are Ottilia and Odette

I love Greek girls I could make a long, long list of names: Helena, Anthea, Andrea, Xanthe, Evangeline etc. I quite like Melaina and I love Rose with it.

I think Melaina is honestly a bit confusing- how do you pronounce it? Is it Mel-lane-uh? Rose is nice but feels a bit filler. I quite like Olivia and all the cute nicknames it brings (Ollie, Livvie, Livia, Via) but I think Diane is a bit old-fashioned.

Top 5 favorite boy's names:
Max
Elijah
Charlie
Jack
Ace

I'm the same as you, there are dozens of girls' names I love but only a handful for the boys, and I like a wide variety of girls' names but I tend to prefer "standard", traditional names for the boys. Usually, but not always.

My top 5:
William
Xavier
Andrew
Mason
Evan

I love Olivia but as a Diana I have a strong personal bias against Diane (since I am always called that) so I am not the person to provide an opinion on that lol. Melaina is ok, not a personal favorite. I love Rose, but it's so often used as a filler middle name, I hope it's more than that.

People will look at Melaina and read Melania, but they will also do that with any other name you use. Name her Jane, they'll call her Jan. It's inevitable and unavoidable. Sometimes I feel names were implemented solely for getting them wrong, lol.

Love Theodore and Elliot! Arthur and Nolan are also great, and severely underrated names.

Atticus (the name of my first)
Hudson (the name of the baby due in Dec)
Ander
Roland (but I wouldn't use it in real life)

I like Colin, John, James and Leo too!

Melaina is a beautiful name regardless, and dark rose is a cool meaning. As long as you like the name! I really do too, I just fel too many people use it without really appreciating it! So I'm glad you do ^^

I don't mind Lee or Leland, esp if it's meant to honor people. Leland might be a little old fashioned but a lot of "old fashioned" names see surges in popularity years later (Sophia, Ava, Eleanor, etc...). Leland is also unique without having to try to be. Since you like it, and it's the name both his dad and grandpa have, I think it'd be great to use as it! (I hope he comes around!)

Benjamin, Gabriel, Alexander, Cameron, Elliot

Melaina reminds me of melena, which is black tarry poo filled with old blood. So, not my fave.

The first 4 have been my favorites for at least 15 years. Leo is a more recent addition.

Melaina Rose and Olivia Diane are beautiful! :)

My top 5 boys names:
Eamon Francis Michael
Lachlan Andrew James/Lachlan Joseph William
Matteo Benjamin Reid
Damon Patrick Rhys
and Dalton Gabriel

My girls' list is a lot longer than my boys' list too. I think I have like 40 or 41 girls' names on my babynames.com list and only 15 or 16 boys' names. Probably because I really want girls and a lot of the boys' names I like are too common for me to actually use, except for middle names so I left those off. lol
