[identity profile] juniorfan29.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So, my cousin just had her kid last week. A boy. Henrik Charles Oran *last name*.

Personally, I hate it.

Edited to add: Charles is in honor of her dad and Oran is in honor of his dad.

Oh, I love, love, LOVE Henrik! It's too Germanic for us to use (and Henry is now my alternative) but I love seeing it on other people's babies. :) Charles isn't my favorite (but I love Charlie!) and I really dislike Oran. The flow overall flow isn't the best, either.

Congrats on the new cousin!

I love Henry but not a fan of Henrik. I dont like the Rick sound quite as much.

I do love the use of three classic & traditional names rather than sticking in a modern for the MN. I like Oran its a little different and sets the name apart.

I love it. I think its very classic.

I'm also a fan of hockey, which clouded my judgement. There are quite a few players named Henrik.

I really like the whole combination! Very classic and would work well for an adult as well as a child, which is one of the things that I think about when choosing names.

I like --rik/rick names a lot. The combo is strong and classic with a bit of a twist, which I love. I'm also a fan of 2 middle names.

I like it. Plus I love how they added sentimental names. :)

I don't particularly care for Charles or Oran, but Henrik is pretty great.

For our youngest, who turned out to be a girl, my husband was simply MAD for Henrik. I technically like Henrik a lot, and at that time I loved Elsa for a girl so I was digging the German names, but I knew I would become irate if people nicknamed him Rick.I'm not a huge fan of nicknames, unless they're completely unrelated endearments like Bean Head or Papaya. Something.

We at first considered Henrik Wolfgang, then feeling it was overly German we looked to Henrik Leopold, Henrik Ambrose.

Aww, I like Henrik quite a lot! At this point, though, I'll like anything classic versus the tryndee -aden names.

It's not my style, but I LOVE the combination, and I think it sounds lovely.

i rather like it actually. as someone else said, it's far better than some of the trendy crappy names out there.
