The baby names forum on birthcentre.co.uk is currently obsessed with the name Loveday for a girl. Every other day someone is suggesting it. WDYT?

Is there a pronunciation of this I'm not getting? Or is it just love day?
*shivers*

Maybe as a quirky middle name?

I was curious about this, so I googled the name and saw the name had it's own wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loveday. According to the wiki page it was a common name during medieval times but it's now is mostly used in Cornwall.

That being said, the name isn't my style at all. I guess it could work as a middle name, but I wouldn't use it as a first name at all.

I think it's horrible. It sounds like a last name.

I kind of love it. It isn't my style, and I couldn't use it, and I really only love it for a middle name...but there was this colonial memorial in the town by my college named Loveday, after one of the founders, and the Loveday fountain in Portland, it is just seems historical and lovely at the same time. Couldn't use it, but I enjoy seeing it on people.

Also, thanks for the recommend for new baby name forum, hooray!

I like it, but I've done a lot of research on Medieval names so it's not unfamiliar to me. That probably makes it more palatable.
