i would never name a girl tyler, but i would absolutely name a girl taylor or reese.

Reese - yeah, but I really don't like it for either sex.
Taylor - yes, it's used so frequently, but I still think it sounds very masculine and I hate it on a girl.

I knew a female Tyler long before I ever heard of Tyler used as a boys name. People thought her name was just weird, but nobody thought of it as a boys name. It was a last name, if anything. Then late 80s hit and Tyler was the super-hip boy name.

Personally, I like Tyler more than I like Taylor or Reese as girl names. I like Rhys on a boy. Reese makes me want chocolate and peanut butter. Taylor doesn't appeal to me at all.

If you like it, whats stopping you. I know a girl Ryan and I think its really cute. I have no problems with 'guys' names on girls, but its the girls names on guys. When I think of a guy Taylor, it just makes me shudder. Gross. That and boy Ashleys. I can't imagine what kind of teasing they'd get.
