There is a woman who frequents the shop I work in. Covered in tattoos and piercings and she's probably late 30s I want to say? Anyway, she has a few kids. Today she had two boys and a girl [though they were all around the 4, 5 or 6 mark, I'm sure I've seen her pushing a pram as well.] Today I discovered that the daughter is called Star. She told her off for annoying her brother and called her by her name. I'm not much of a fan myself but it could be worse.

Edit: Someone commented on this entry saying I'm sounding terribly judgemental. To clarify, I have tats and piercings and bizarre clothes. I expected unusual names for the kids because of her different look, but somehow Star still caught me off guard.

an adult friend of mine is named Starr (she and her family are completely normal), her sister is Spring -she told me that growing up, whenever people asked her or her sister what their names were- they'd lie and just say "Jamie" or "Jen" because there were always too many questions that followed "Starr"

Not a fan. Mentally I put Star in more of a redneck/country music star category than edgy hipster name. There are so many lovely, creative celestial themed names, why pick Star?

At least it isn't Starr or Starre or Styr...
