And if it must be a nickname for something... anything but Bonita. I think that's such an ugly name. :( Bonnie would be a nice nickname for names like Robin, Ebony, even names just names that start with B, like Brittany and Bernadette.

I knew a girl named Bonaventure who went by Bonnie, and a girl named Margaret who went by it.

I like Bonnie, but its definitely one of those "nickname names" that strick me as odd, like when a girl is named Jamie, or Lisa, or Tina or Sally, or Kathy.
