[identity profile] laminy.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I was just on tumblr, and saw that Jensen Ackles and Danneel Harris have finally had their child, named Justice "JJ" Jay. Okay, not great, or good, but they're definitely not the first people to use it.

And then Google told me that it's a girl. I had totally assumed that they had a son. 'Welcomes Daughter Justice Jay' is one of the worst headlines I've ever read. Now I hate it.

WDYT?

That is a horrible, horrible name no matter how you spin it.

I could have been alright with it on a boy. On a girl though? Just no.

I don't like the name Justice at all, but it's DEFINITELY a girl name to me. A boy named Justice would...I don't know. I would think it was a girl name.

At least it's not "Americus"

Why Jensen?! Why must you disappoint me so?!

JJ is a cute nick name but there are about a thousand other combinations they could have come up with to result in JJ.

I don't like the name at all but I see it more as a girl name.

Justice definitely strikes me as girl name, but I think possibly because of the tween clothing store for girls called Justice? Interestingly, I really love the name Justus for a boy (but would probably never really use it). Jay and JJ however are both very masculine to me, which is a little odd since they're both essentially the letter "j" which shouldn't have a gender connotation either way, but *shrug*.

I thought it was a girl at first, then misread your post and thought, "oh, ok, that works for a boy too."

But either way, it is definitely NMS.

I know a little boy named Justice and I remember the charactor Justice from General Hospital, so to me its a boys name, but that combo is just horrible for a boy or girl.

Justice seems like a masculine name. I like Liberty for a girl, as a guilty pleasure. Jay could work as a middle name for a girl with something more feminine, like Elizabeth Jay or something (kind of like James can work for girls in that same manner). But yeah, that seems like a boy's name to me.

That's a bad name for a boy, but for a girl it's horrendous. >:(

It's NMS but... it's most definitely not the worst celebribaby name I've ever heard, no matter the gender

I saw that too. Seems like they called her those two names so they could give her the nickname JJ, which is weird. Also am I the only one seeing the J2 connection. Its a tad bit strange :p

I actually like the name Justice, and like it for a boy or a girl, but I don't like the Justice Jay combo
