Lilah/Lila? (Deeply dislike the "Y" spelling)

My only association with it (having never met one IRL), is of the "liason to the Senior Partners" on Angel, which originally made me hate it. However, the character has grown on me, ergo, so has the name. I don't think I could get away with Winifred Lilah or Lilah Winifred,  so what are your favorite middle names for it?

My cat's name is Lila, but my son picked it, not me. I wasn't sure of it in the beginning because of the Angel connection... but after I watched more of the show, I realized that I sort of liked that Lila(h?) anyhow.

Ummm... good middle name? Elizabeth (biased - it's my mn, but it sounds OK)... I dunno, everything I can think of that works (as in, no "a" sound at the end, among other things) is really old-fashioned... Marie? Claire?

It took roleplaying as Lilah to like her. She's not a lovable character on the level of Spike and/or Fred, but she's interesting enough to fascinate (and namesake, possibly.)

I like Lilah Claire, Claire was on my middle name list for Winifred. (Ironically enough.)

I dunno, I think in the end (and possibly only after she was dead...) you got to see a little more of her than a cold, hard bitch. Her & Wes' relationship showed a softer side, and proved that in Whedon's world, even the Big Bads can be swayed. The scene in the records room, with her contract, was amazing.

sorry ... but yeah, I think Lilah Claire sounds pretty - not completely "normal" (as in, overused), but not so far out there that she'll get funny looks and interesting nicknames, either.

I made myself all depressed (I'm a large bundle of hormone at the moment) when I realized that it was possible that I was more interested in her and Wes' relationship than Fred and Wes' (and I'm the biggest Fresley shipper you'll ever meet. Even my mood theme is Fresley!). If Fred and Wesley had gotten more time (*sob*), I think they'd have been interesting, too, especially once the honeymoon phase was over and their quirks became evident for each other. Lilah and Wes' relationship was flawed, and that's what's fascinating about it.

Oh, you're not alone - I get mad watching the first half of the final season, actually, right from the introduction of Fred, to be honest. Every time I saw them interact, I yelled "JUST GET IT OVER WITH!! YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO PLAY DUMB!!" I couldn't even like Knox the second time I watched the last season... I kept thinking "I know what you're going to do. You should just die now." I got mad when the same actor was in that episode of Firefly, though not when he was on Buffy.

So, yeah... wanna start a "I have no life" club?

I'm one of the few people (despite how late I came to the Angelverse--late June of this year) who didn't know about Fred's death before it happened, though. The first time I watched the sequence of episodes from A Hole In The World until Not Fade Away, I bawled consistantly. Now you know what I do? Wonder why the fuck Whedon keeps killing Wes' girlfriends, scream "DON'T TOUCH THE PRETTY PURPLE BUTTON, FRED!", throw popcorn at Knox, and laugh at just about everything Illyria says.

I'm a very involved TV watcher, can you tell?

i'm guessing it's pronounced "lie" and not "lee", right? delilah is one of my favorite names and i've thought about shortening it to lilah, because of the connotations people have of delilah (even though i don't think they're that bad, but whatever). i'll have to get back to you on middle names. :)

I just responded Lila as in, that's the spelling I like. I was just agreeing. no middle name suggestions. It doesn't sound too horrible with Winifred so if that's what you like I say go for it.

No, I asked what you thought of Lilah as a name (or spelled Lila, since I knew people would say "What's with the "H", I just like it) and what middle names you'd suggest, but perhaps I was taken wrong.

I can't use Winifred as a middle name or first name with the middle name Lilah because not only were both of them characters on the quasi-popular television show Angel, but they both dated the same character, and it would be totally weird and a bit overly fannish.

Lila is my great-aunt's name and I've always loved it. Unfortunately, I don't know her middle name. But she has always been a fun, elegant, classy lady who's known for getting one too many speeding tickets. I also like it spelled Lilah. Lila/Lilah Claire (which happens to be my sister's name) is a beautiful combo. :)

Friends of our next door neighboors/close friends just had a baby girl and named her Lila/Lilah/Lyla. No clue of what spelling they used yet. I had never really heard the name much before that, but I think it's quite pretty.

I think that Lilah is the best spelling for making the pronunciation less ambiguous, somehow. It's pretty, too.

I prefer Lila to Lilah aesthetically, but of course I favor the "Lilah" spelling. The only person I ever know with that name spelled it "Lyla," which I don't care for.

I don't know why, but I always think Lila/h should have a surname-sounding middle name (Monroe, Carrington, Gray, Callahan, Sawyer, Spencer, etc.)

Lilah Morgan made the h-less spelling seem very strange to me, even if many people find the h to be superfluous.

At one point, I was seriously considering naming any future twins Wesley and Lilah. I was just going to use Morgan as a middle name for Lilah, for I am a geek, but then I really started to like Lilah Isabella. The last syllables are identical, but I still think that they sound nice together.

I LOVE Lila. I don't like Lilah though, because to me that's pronounced "lil-uh" not "lie-luh". My kitten's name is Lila Elisabeth. :)

Wesley and Lilah would be the best twin names ever. Since I already have Cordelia, though, I'd be forced to change my son's name to something. Like Gavin or Lindsey. :P
