I'm not sure on the spellings, though, since their mum is just a customer of the shop I work at.

I get the impression the mother wanted it to be an extravagent name because it's the one name you hear her shout constantly round the shop. And the really accentuates the A sound at the end. Kathleenaaaa!

I like names with A-endings for shouting purposes hahaha. And I guess when I do imagine someone shouting that name, I like it a little bit more than when I first read it. Still though, the a-ending is a bit odd.

I agree with the oddness. Kathleen is already quite extravagent. It doesn't need the A.
