Actually, it's only about 10 years old, but that's old enough that people probably wouldn't freak out too much. It's also really only known to people who've seen The Ring---the horror association never crept into the mainstream like it did with Damien (which is very unfortunate). The same thing happened with Regan and The Exorcist---despite that connection, Reagan is a fairly popular choice for girls these days.
