Suggestions for first names...

I've decided I'd like to use a name that has been passed through my best friend's family for 3 generations now: Leona.  Leona is my best friend's grandmother's first name, my best friend's middle name and now (my "niece") her daughter's first name.  It isn't all that common so combining it with my style isn't going to be easy. Her family practically adopted me shortly after we met, and I have always thought it was a  beautiful name, so I'd like to use it to honor her and her family.

 

Some other female names I love, so you can get an idea of the direction I'm going:

Caliope
Claire
any variation of Elizabeth (my mother's name)
Orchid
Davina
Gwen
Aria / various other musical references
Valerie

 

There are about a thousand more but these are just the ones off the top of my head.

Yes!  I apologize, I must have left that out.  I will be using Leona as the middle name.  I'm also open to multiple middle names.

I think Claire Leona will make the most gorgeous name from the ones you listed, but Margaret Leona is another one I swoon over.

I like Claire Leona and Echo Leona best out of what you've listed. You could lengthen Gwen to Gwendolyn Leona, which would be pretty. I have to second the suggestion of Margaret Leona, which would be fantastic.

Geez, coming up with the perfect name is agony, but it's also going to be hard to NOT name any more babies after Gemma is born. She's going to be my last. :D When are you due? Is this your first?

Absolutely. I adore my best friend but her first name is about 1,000 times more common than anything I like. I have spoken with her parents and the rest of her living grandparents and they think it's a great idea.
