[identity profile] smallandneedy.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Two of my friends are expecting a little baby boy in March, but they can't decide what to name him. They've narrowed it down to two, mostly because they don't like anything else :P

It's either Karl (or Carl, not sure what they're going for) or Felix.
I'd suggest to use them together but they don't want a middle name for him.

Which one would you pick?

Neither are my style, but I'd pick Karl (with a K because it feels more masculine to me, and because it's my dad's name spelt with a K) because Felix is a cat's name and is also becoming very popular. Karl is known, so people can spell and pronounce it, but isn't everywhere.

I'd pick Felix. It's a fun, happy name with a long history.

I'm not a big fan of Karl. If it were Kyle I'd tell them to go for it, because that's a name I'd like to name a second son (first son born is Leo, I've already decided lol). Felix wins here. It's cute and cuddly and I just love it!

Karl/Carl always sounds so serious to me. I think I'd prefer Felix.

Or they could name him what an acquaintance from high school named her son -- Kalix. Best of both words!

I'd use Felix over Carl/Karl.
