I just heard a lady with the name Wincy. Never heard it before in my life. WDYT? Ever heard of the name before? I can't tell what the origin of this name is - English?

My first thought was "Quincy."

I like it. But only for a cat or a dog. It's definitely not a name for a person to have.

I think of Quincy, except the first part just makes me think of wince.

Makes me think of the weather forecaster http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wincey_Willis
Googling suggests it's from a surname, possible trade based, but the origin isn't at all clear (http://www.ancientfaces.com/surname/wincey-family-history/807262)
It's quirky - as someone mentioned above, I'd probably think it better used on a pet than a child :)
