[identity profile] earn-my-wings.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Went to a concert tonight and the opening band was named Liora. I had never heard the name before and wasn't sure if it was real or not, but I looked it up and it is in fact a Hebrew female name.

I prefer the spelling Leora, but the name immediately grabbed me. I think it's gorgeous and classic-sounding.

Wow, that's really pretty! My husband is jewish and I've been keeping my eyes peeled for Hebrew names that I like (though our tastes tend to lean towards german/english names, for wahtever reason) and this might just have to go on the list!

I think it looks a little awkward, but I like the sound a lot.

I like it, too. I also prefer Leora.

I loved that name when I was like, 10 years old. I think it was a character from a book, but I'm unsure of the spelling.

I know a very awful person with that name so it's tainted for me but it is a nice name aside from that.

I love Liora. It was *almost* my Hebrew name, but I have Orli instead. :) It is very trendy in certain circles, but I still find it really lovely.
