A woman from church (Zoila) has two kids: Lillian James and Kai Jameson.

I can only guess that their mns are honoring a family member.

What do you think about outright male names for girls? I've never been a fan, but for some reason, I think Lillian James is super cute.

I think James is one that you can get away with, and same with surnames like, say, Harrison or Chandler or Warren (I know a girl named Gianna Warren), especially if it's meant to honor someone. Edward or Daniel, though? That's probably less likely.

I think getting hung up about the gender of a name that is neither yours nor your child's is silly. Most names don't have a gender innate to their meaning, with a few exceptions like Andrew and Andrea, and names often flip genders over the decades anyway. So, yeah, 100% for "male" names on girls, or "female" names on boys.

But what people think 'masculine' and 'feminine' sound like changes too. ;)
