I quite like Bronte, but I wouldn't use it myself. Bronya I just think sounds weird, though.

In reference to the authors, it's usually pronounced "Bron-tay" (though their family's last name was Brunty until their father changed it).

Ugh. Bronte pronounced that way is ridiculous. Bronte pronounced like the authors always feels pretentious, but it is way less awful than "Brontee." Ugh.

I've met several Eastern Europe/Polish ancestry families that use the name Bronya, but usually spelled Bronia.

Bronte (pronounced Bron-tay) screams pretentious and trying-too-hard. Bronte pronounced Bron-tee sounds like something a child would name his or her stuffed dinosaur. Just don't like either of them, sorry.

Bronya is interesting, since it sounds a lot like Anya, my favorite name. I don't hate it...

Yuck to both. Bronte just sounds pretentious and makes me think of "Wuthering Heights"....neither of which is good haha
