And thus concludes Summer Reading in my town. We had a big party to celebrate; there was cake and book reading and obligatory aware giving, and thus instead of being broken up into groups of twenty as always for a brief while all 80-something of them were around. This is the cream of the crop aka the kids whose names stood out or who caught my eye admist the chaos. With the exception of the tribal names, which I support, there was a lot of '...." from me at the spellings some parents chose. And the middle names... well. At least the chaotic party of squealing is over, the cake and ice cream are gone and the place is cleaned. Ages ranged 5-10 and it was a bit chaotic, but I feel like I've learned about the people in my community. (Most of it, I wish I could unlearn.)

Kimmantha Samberly? REALLY? Since when was it okay to chop the names up into pieces and then glue them back together again to create new names? Troseph is equally horrible. At least Jessalina got a decent-ish name in that sibset.

Kimmantha introduces herself as Kim-Sam. Even she knows better than this. Troseph was really angry nobody could get his name right.

Ama... is five and is thankfully too young for other kids to pick on her for it yet, but I fear for her future.

Cillian Rose, Dalton Jonquil, and Toal Lillian is a very confusing sibset. Why give boys such feminine middle names? I don't get it.
