Good together, bad apart
Jul. 17th, 2012 11:26 pmI noticed the other day that there are some people who go by their first and middle name or they have a nice first and last name combination, and I find myself liking it. But once I isolate each name, I don't like the individual names, at all. Here's just a few famous names that I thought of right away which I like together, but not apart:
Doris Day (Doris alone is bleh, add the "Day" and it's so charming)
Norma Jean (Dislike both names separately)
Mary-Kate (not keen on either by themselves)
Tina Fey (I don't like Tina at all, but calling her Tina Fey sounds good to me, haha)
Does anyone else relate? What name combinations sound good to you together, but not individually? And how much of your opinion do you attribute to having a good association or familiarity with that person?
