Movie Characters!

I am writing a movie right now! It's about two cousins who take a road trip to upstate New York to convince a runaway relative to leave the renaissance faire and rejoin their family. They go undercover and end up getting swept into the faire world.

Here are the characters' names, WDYT?



Anthony, 28,  a young groom-to-be
Ramona, 28, the bride-to-be
Michael, 27, Ramona's work bestie and the man-of-honor at Anthony and Ramona's wedding
Ruby, 25, Anthony's younger cousin and the "best woman" at the wedding
Nicholas, 26, Ruby's on-again/off-again boyfriend
Jonah, 22, Ruby's younger brother

River, 21, an obsessive ren-faire fangirl, soon-to-be love of Jonah's life
Lois, 48, River's mother, bitter about being born too late to enjoy the sixties, goes by "Love"
Richard, 48, River's father, also bitter for the same reason, goes by "Redemption," is a "butt doctor"

Charlotte, 22, next door neighbor and best friend of River, waitress at the Wooden Nichols restaurant
Rae, 14, her kid sister
Amanda, 29, fellow waitress saving up for her own wedding

The Madrigal Singers (late teens, early 20s): Christine, Lizzie, Rachel, Sophie
The Greenleaf Family Band: Thacher, Mirabelle, Foster, Lorelai, Pierce, Cecily, Jude, Vivian and Timmy (RIP). Timmy is replaced in the band by his caregiver Renata after it is revealed she was not responsible for his death.

Good choices for the most part. Charlotte and Rae as sisters though.... as long as you know Charlotte Rae played Mrs. G on The Facts of Life.

I love the name Ruby, but it might be slightly anachronistic on a twenty-something.

Did you intentionally use a bunch of R-names or do you just like them?

It's interesting to me because I don't know many people with R-names (only 13 out of 227 Facebook friends), and here you have 1/4 of the characters with R-names.

I like several of the names you've used: Michael, Ruby, Nicholas, River, Charlotte, Sophie, and Lorelai.

I didn't really think about it. The joke with River's family is that their last name is Song and they sued the producers of Doctor Who for using their daughter's name.
